− Use the charger only at an ambient temperature of 32 °F to
104 °F (0 °C to 40 °C).
− The charger must not be exposed to direct, intense
sunlight for long periods of time.
− Do not expose the charger to heat and long-term
temperatures above 113 °F (45 °C). At higher temperatures,
the output power of the charger automatically decreases.
Precautions to avoid explosions
WARNING!
RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES!
Improper handling of the charger can initiate a
spark and trigger an explosion.
Hydrogen gas can escape from the battery during
charging and trickle charge processes. In the event
of contact with open fl ames, a highly explosive
hydrogen-oxygen reaction will result!
− Always ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
− Also make sure that during charging and trickle charging,
no open fl ames or sparks are present.
− Make sure that explosive or fl ammable materials, such
as gasoline or solvents are not in close proximity to the
charger.
− Make sure that neither spark formation nor electrostatic
discharges occur whenever cords and electric appliances
are used.
− Prevent spark formation with connecting and
disconnecting the charger.
− Prevent electric short circuits when connecting the
charger to the battery. Connect the negative charger
connection cord to the negative pole of the battery.
