CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

NOTE: Ensure that the device is unplugged before you carry out cleaning work.

Cleaning the water tank

• Empty and clean the water tank after every use. Use the cleaner to clean accessory parts (jet nozzle and round brus-
hes) if they are dirty. Then let them dry outdoors.
• Decalcification of the inside of the water tank: to remove lime scale deposits on the inside of the water tank, add one
or two table spoons of white vinegar to the tank filled with water, apply the lid and shake it. DO NOT ACTIVATE THE
VAPOR CLEANER. Leave the bank untouched for a couple of hours. Then empty the tank and fill it again with fresh
water and rinse it until no deposits can be seen any more.
NOTE: Never dip the UV MOP entirely into water.
Removing lime scale deposits
If your UV MOP starts to produce vapour more slowly than normally or stops to do so entirely, it may be necessary to
remove lime scale deposits. These deposits occur over time on metal parts and affect the performance of the mop to a
considerable degree. Lime scale deposits should be removed regularly, approx. after using 25 to 30 full tanks of water
or at least once a month. This applies for areas with hard water in particular. The cleaning intervals depend on the
degree of hardness of the water and the intensity of using the mop. As a rule, you can use tap water for the UV MOP .
In areas of hard water, however, we recommend distilled water for a better performance. To remove lime scale deposits
from the UV MOP , please follow the following instructions:
Cleaning with the use of the cleaning pin:
1.
Ensure that the UV MOP is unplugged before you carry out maintenance work.
2.
Use the cleaning pin to remove deposits on the small vapour exit hole in the main part of the device (Figure 21).
Clean the vapour release hole through rotating and pronging movements with the pin. Ensure that all deposits
were removed before you put the device back together.
Cleaning with the use of a cleaning solution:
1.
Use a solution of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 tap water and enter them in the water tank.
2.
Fasten the device and ensure that the vapour cleaner is not directed towards floors, surrounding objects or
surfaces. Plug the device in, switch it ON by pressing the mains switch (O/I) it let it produce vapour until the
vinegar-water solution has been used up.
3.
Repeat the above process as long as necessary until the vapour release has reached a normal level.
4.
Fill the water tank with fresh water and rinse it.
5.
Fill the water tank with fresh water, reapply it on the device and let vapour release until the tank is empty.
NOTE: RISK OF SCALDING
Never leave the vapour cleaner unattended during the process for removing lime scale deposits or during the normal use.
NOTE: Test the device before use at a suitable location to ensure that no deposits are there anymore.
Cleaning blocked accessory parts
Due to the high share of mineral substances in the water of some areas, it may happen that less vapour is released
from the hand vapour cleaner. This may have to do with the lime scale deposits in the nozzle peak. To remove lime
scale deposits, please proceed as follows: we recommend a sprayable lubricant.
Use it to spray once or twice briefly in the peak of the nozzle. Then fill the vapour cleaner with water in accordance
with the instructions and let vapour out through the relevant opening for a couple of minutes to remove the deposit. As
soon as the relevant part is clean again and the vapour can be released without hindrance, place the vapour cleaner
on a neutral surface or a cleaning cloth to ensure that no remaining parts are released with the vapour.
