1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Open the kettle by pulling up the handle in the lid. Then fill in the water. Please
only fill up to the maximum (MAX) mark. You can read off the water level in the
water level display.
3. Close the lid until you hear it lock in place.
4. Place the kettle flush on the base.
5. Electrical connection
• Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as that
of the machine. Details are to be found on the label on the base.
• Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety socket.
6. Switch the machine on with the switch on the handle.
7. The control lamp in the on/off switch lights up.
8. When the water is boiling the kettle switches itself off automatically unless you
press the switch to interrupt or stop the water from boiling. Disconnect the kettle
from the mains. When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed. Danger of
scalding!
•
Always remove the plug from the mains supply before cleaning the machine!
•
The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly
damp cloth without additives.
•
The machine must never be immersed in water!
•
The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the
water and on how often the appliance is used.
•
If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decal-
cified. Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification
agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instruc-
tions.
