Controlling the UNICO BOILER WALL unit from the console
Description of the console
L1
A red light on means water is being heated up. If it is permanently on, it means heating is taking place under normal operating
conditions with the assistance of the UNICO BOILER MASTER heat pump. If it is flashing (BACKUP function) it still indicates that
water is being heated up, but without the assistance of the UNICO BOILER MASTER if the latter has gone into the alarm condition
or in operating conditions that prevent the heat pump from working. A red light off means the water has reached the required water
temperature, UNICO BOILER WALL is thermostatically controlled.
Buttons (Fig. 43)
T1
UNICO BOILER WALL On button.
T2
Button for selecting the hot water production mode: normal (TURBO1 and TURBO2 icons not lit up), Turbo1 (TURBO1 icon lit up)
and Turbo2 (TURBO1 and TURBO2 icons lit up).
T3
ECO button, used to memorise two set temperatures, normal and ECO (it does not change the operating modes of UNICO BOILER
MASTER and WALL).
T5
PLUS button increases the required water temperature setting.
T6
MINUS button decreases the required water temperature setting.
T7
Button reserved for the installer for setting operating parameters.
Display (Fig.43)
D1D2
Required water temperature in degrees centigrade.
S1
SNOWFLAKE icon, if lit up signals that the ANTIFREEZE function is in progress.
S2
SUN icon, always lit up.
S3
ECO icon, if lit up signals that the corresponding required water temperature shown D1 D2 D3 is the ECO temperature, if not lit
up it is the normal operating temperature.
S4
TURBO1 icon, lit up if Turbo1 or Turbo2 are enabled.
S5
TURBO2 icon, lit up if Turbo2 is enabled.
K4
Icon lit up during the water heating phase for Anti-legionella function.
Turning the appliance on and off
Using button T1 (Fig. 43) the UNICO BOILER WALL can be switched off (Standby) or switched on. When it is switched on, the unit
is always in heating mode (icon S2 lit up) and automatically heats up the water each time the temperature set and showing on the
display (fig. 4BIS+4TRIS) is different from the temperature of the water inside the storage tank.
The system for controlling the appliance is equipped with a memory so all the settings will not be lost when the unit is switched off.
TURBO1 and TURBO2 functions
Turbo1 mode means the appliance works in such a way as to prioritise the production of hot water (in this specific case if UNICO
BOILER MASTER is in Heating mode, it could inhibit the emission of hot air). Turbo2 adds to the Turbo1 function the UNICO
BOILER WALL electric heating element to further reinforce the production of hot water.
ANTIFREEZE function
If the temperature of the water inside the storage tank is too low, UNICO BOILER WALL automatically (icon S1 lit up) heats up
the water (by means of the electric heating element) to a temperature that will prevent ice from forming. The Antifreeze function
activates even if the unit is in Standby.
BACKUP function
If the UNICO BOILER MASTER is in Dehumidification mode or stopped in the alarm condition, or if there is a break in the line of
communication, hot water production is in any case guaranteed through the UNICO BOILER WALL electric heating element.
Hot water production in this particular operating condition is signalled by the red LED L1 flashing.
ANTI-LEGIONELLA function
Periodic heating up of the water stored can be programmed in order to prevent bacteria from forming. The Anti-legionella function
activated automatically (icon K4 lit up) even if the unit is in Standby. To configure this function seek advice from your installer.

ENERGY SAVING ADVICE

-
Always keep the filters clean (see chapter on maintenance and cleaning).
-
Keep the doors and windows closed in the air-conditioned rooms.
-
Keep sunlight out of the room by using curtains, lowering the shades or closing the shutters.
-
Do not obstruct the air flow channels (both inlet and outlet) of the unit; apart from preventing the optimal performance of the
system, this would also jeopardise correct operating and could cause irreparable damage to the unit.

DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEMS

It is important for the User to distinguish between functional problems and anomalies in relation to the behaviour of the appliance
as foreseen for its normal operation. Furthermore, the most common problems may easily be solved through simple operations
on behalf of the User (See paragraph: Anomalies and solutions), while for all of the other anomalies it is necessary to contact the
Olimpia Splendid Service Centre.
WARNING: Please remember that any attempt to repair the appliance by unauthorised personnel will immediately invalidate
any form of guarantee.
3.5.1

Functional aspects not to be interpreted as problems

-
The compressor does not start up again immediately after a stop (it takes about three minutes to start again).
In the operating logic of the appliance a delay between a compressor stop and its successive restart has been included, so
that the compressor itself is protected against activations that are too frequent.
-
While the UNICO BOILER MASTER is in the heating phase, it may take a few minutes for the hot air to be emitted after the
compressor has started.
-
While the UNICO BOILER MASTER is in the heating or ventilation phase, the emission of hot air may be temporarily
suspended (for specific details see the paragraphs on use and maintenance par. 3.3.7 and 3.3.8).
