4.3.4. By-pass operation

During extreme overload situations (>150% of the unit's nominal load)
the operating mode changes to By-pass and the inverter is blocked. The
energy powering the load comes from the mains.
This is not a normal operating mode. If there is a mains power failure,
the UPS switches to the inverter and treats the overload in the same way
as when it is working in battery mode.
Once the overload situation has been remedied, the UPS returns to the normal operating
mode.
The by-pass operating mode may be forced manually by pressing the by-pass button on the
front panel. Confirm by pressing the button again while the acoustic signal requesting con-
firmation is sounding. To get out of the by-pass operating mode, follow the same procedu-
re: press the by-pass button and confirm while the acoustic signal requesting confirmation is
sounding. In the event of a power failure while in this operating mode, there will be no power
to the load since the inverter will not start up.

4.4 Alarms

The following table shows all of the UPS unit's acoustic alarms.
· Battery not charged: One long beep every 15 seconds indicates that the mains power is
outside of the tolerance limits and the inverter is being powered by the battery.
· Pre-alarm: A short beep every second indicates that there is little time left until the batter-
y's autonomy is used up.
· Auto-test: A series of 5 short beeps indicates that the auto-test has begun.
· Status change: 2 short beeps indicate an event or status change which has been memo-
rised in the unit's memory.
· Alarm: 5 short beeps and one long one on a repetitive basis indicate:
- Output overload.
- Temperature alarm.
- Battery overload.
- Internal failure.
· Forced by-pass: 20 short beeps. Activated when a forced by-pass is requested, it indica-
tes that in order to execute the command, it must be confirmed while the alarm is active.
· Fan failure: A continuous series of short beeps indicates that the fan does not work. Shut
down the unit and contact your technical service representative. See "Troubleshooting".
