5.3 Setting the stripping length
A letter is assigned to each wire-end ferrule:
16 mm = A
14 mm = B
► Check whether the applicable letter (A or B) is set to the
following four components:
1. Ferrule stop (Figure 3.3, 4)
2. Release device (Figure 3.3, 8)
3. Stranded wire fixing unit (Figure 3.3, 11)
4. Opening wedge (Figure 3.3, 1)

► Swivel the tool unit to the right to reach the adjusting
wheel.
► Turn the adjusting wheel so that the required value is
underneath.

You can vary the stripping length using the setting.
► Press the adjusting wheel backwards and turn it so that
the required value is at the marked position.

► Release the adjusting wheel so that it latches in.
You can perform fine adjustments within the selected con-
figuration range (A or B):
► To increase the stripping length, turn toward "+"; to re-
duce the stripping length, turn toward "–".

► Pull the stranded wire fixing unit (Figure 7.3, 9) forwards
and set the lever to the required value.
Adjusting the opening wedge
The opening wedge is only adjustable if the
stranded wire fixing unit is in the operating posi-
tion (see section 7.6).

► Release the fixing screw (1) until the adjustment plate
can be lifted over the fixing pins.
► Bring the adjustment plate into the required position.
► Re-apply the fixing screw (1).
