Introduction
The deep fryer is equipped with an adjustable thermostat, so that the
temperature can be adapted to the food being fried.
The optimal and safe use of the deep fryer requires that the use
instructions be read carefully.
Connection
The fryer must be connected to a properly installed socket with earth-
ing protection.

Putting into use
Before using for the first time
1. Remove the packaging. Open the deep fryer by pressing the
button (2). The frying basket is in the deep fryer.
2. It is highly recommended to clean the lid, casing, container and
frying basket as described in CLEANING.
3. Connect the mains cable supplied to a correctly installed power
socket and the mains connection point (10) on the rear of the
device.
Useful hints for use
1. Always remove the food remaining in the oil (e.g. pieces of French
fries). Change the oil after using it 8-10 times.
2. Deep frying fat must be capable of being heated to high tem-
peratures. Use high quality frying oil or frying grease. Do not use
margarine, olive oil or butter: they are not fit for frying, because
they start to smoke already at low temperatures. In order to
reduce the acrylamide content of food containing starch (potatoes,
cereals) the temperature during deep-fat frying should not exceed
170° C (or possibly 175° C). Furthermore, the frying time should
be kept as short as possible and the food only fried until it turns
golden yellow.
3. Choose the right frying temperature and check the conditions of
the food to be fried. A rule of thumb is that pre-fried foods require
a higher temperature than raw foods.
4. Do not carry or move the deep fryer if the oil or grease is still hot.
5. When frying dough-like foods scrape off the excess dough and
put the pieces carefully into the oil.
6. The deep frying basket must not be more than two-thirds full. Do
not overfill the basket.
7. Rub dry humid foods with a cloth before frying.
8. After use, unplug the deep fryer.
9. If you should switch on your deep fat fryer by accident when there
is no oil or fat in it, the overheating protection device will switch on
automatically. The device is then no longer operable. Remove the
plug from the socket.
Use
1. Make sure that the appliance is unplugged and switched off.
2. Unlock the lid by pressing the release button (2).
3. Remove the deep frying basket and fill oil or fat into the container.
Only fill between the min. and max. mark.
Please note the following important information!
If you use fat, divide it up into small pieces and place it on the
floor of the deep frying vessel.
Under no circumstances should you place the fat in the deep
frying basket!
4. Insert the plug into a power socket and switch on the deep fat
fryer using the POWER ON/OFF button (4). Then close the lid
during the heating-up phase.
5. The POWER control lamp (5) and the HEATING control lamp (6)
light up. Please set the temperature regulator (7) to the desired
temperature.
6. Once the set temperature has been reached, the HEATING
control lamp (6) goes off. The POWER control lamp remains on
and shows that the device is in operation.
7. Now fill the deep-fry basket. Please ensure that the basket is not
filled above the hot fat. Open the lid and insert the basket with the
items to be fried carefully into the recess. The deep-fry basket is
now in the hot fat.
8. Now close the lid. Release the handle (by pressing the button (9)
on the handle).
9. During the deep-frying process the HEATING control lamp switch-
es on and off several times. This is normal and shows that the
temperature is being thermostatically controlled and maintained.
After the frying time has elapsed (frying times are to be found on
the food packaging or in the recipe), open the lid carefully (as it is
possible that hot steam will be released). Now remove the deep-
frying basket.
