Attaching the Hood

When attached, lens hoods reduce glare and protect the front lens element.

Warning Warning
If you attach the hood too tightly after attaching a
fi lter to the lens, the fi lter may remain stuck to the
hood when the hood is removed. Do not attempt to
forcibly separate the hood and fi lter, as the fi lter threads could
injure your hands. Cover both the hood and fi lter with
silicone jar openers or the like and unscrew them us-
ing the palms of your hands.

The lens cap attaches to the hood when
the hood is in place.
Q You may not be able to attach the hood over thick lens fi lters.
Thin fi lters are recommended.
