Connection (page 10, figure 2)
The appliance is connected to the power source by means of a metal hose, in accordance
with standard EN 14800 / NF D36-125 (no specified maximum service life), or by means
of a reinforced rubber hose, in accordance with standard NF D 36-112 (with a maximum
service life of 10 years).
The hose must not be subjected to traction or torsion; it must be kept away from all of
the appliance's hot walls; and its entire length must be visible.
Check the proper condition of the hose and do not hesitate to change it if it seems
cracked or damaged. It must be replaced when the expiry date written on the hose is
reached. Its length must be tailored to your use, without ever exceeding 1.5m.
When the plancha is connected, perform a leak-tightness test.
Leak-tightness test
Check leak-tightness by using soapy water away from any heat source (cigarettes,
electrical appliances, etc.).
Put soapy water on all couplings, open the gas inlet and then check for the formation of
bubbles:
- If no bubbles = nothing to report
- If bubbles = leak. Close the gas cylinder, tighten the couplings and then perform
another leak-tightness test. If the leak persists or comes from another part, stop
using your plancha and contact the dealer.
Caution: Never test leak-tightness using a flame. Never use a leaky appliance.
Use
First ignition
The appliance is ready for operation. Check the gas inlet is open.
Press the lever of your choice and turn it to position (8). Keep the lever depressed for five
seconds to bleed the air from the gas pipe to the burner. Return the lever to the (O)
position and then release it.
The first time it is used, you may see some smoke and smell some odours coming from
the appliance.
Switching on
The appliance is ready for operation. Check the gas inlet is open.
1. Set the lever of your choice to position (8) while actuating the ignition (page 10,
figure 1) by pressing repeatedly. Release the lever and allow the burner to heat
up for three or four minutes. It is then possible to select the heating power by
rotating the control lever(s) between position 8 and 1.
2. Visually check the ignition through the openings around the appliance.
3. If ignition is unsuccessful, wait five min and then perform the ignition operation
again.
