17 Troubleshooting

17.1 Remedying Faults in the Blower or Battery

Fault
LEDs on Battery
The blower does not
1 LED flashing
start when switched
green.
on.
1 LED lights up
red.
3 LEDs
flashing red.
3 LEDs light
up red.
4 LEDs
flashing red.
The blower switches
3 LEDs light
off while in operation.
up red.
The blower operating
time is too short.

Cause
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
The battery is too warm or
too cold.
There is a fault in the
blower.
The blower is too warm.
There is a fault in the
battery.
There is a break in the
electrical connection
between the blower and
the battery.
The blower or the battery is
damp.
The blower is too warm.
There is an electrical fault. ► Remove battery and reinsert it.
The battery is not fully
charged.
The battery life has been
exceeded.
Remedy
► Charge battery as described in the Instruction
Manual for chargers STIHL AL 101, 300, 500.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow battery to cool down or warm up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Switch on blower.
► If 3 LEDs still flash red: Do not use the blower.
Consult a STIHL servicing dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the blower to cool down.
► Remove battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on blower.
► If 4 LEDs still flash red: Do not use the battery.
Consult a STIHL servicing dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Allow blower or battery to dry.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the blower to cool down.
► Switch on blower.
► Fully charge battery as described in the Instruction
Manual for chargers STIHL AL 101, 300, 500.
► Replace battery.
