ElektrikSet (Electrical kit)

Intended use

The ElektrikSet (electrical kit) is used to make the electrical
connection between the TG 1000 sinus power inverter and an
auxiliary battery and the alternator.
Only to be used in combination with another cable kit, e. g.:
– KlimaSet (air conditioning kit – part no. 40090-25900) – for
operating the Saphir vario or Saphir compact air condition-
ing unit.
– AutarkSet" (autonomy kit – part no. 40090-26200) – for
operating a 230 V unit (up to 1000 W) via a socket.
– SwitchboxSet (switchbox kit – part no. 40090-26800) –
makes it possible (in conjunction with the KlimaSet and
the AutarkSet) to operate the Truma air conditioning unit
(Saphir vario or Saphir compact) or an external device via a
socket.
Important Notes
Failure to install the equipment properly (e. g.
12 V cable with a cross-section that is too small,
inadequate connections etc.) may cause the cables to
overheat. Risk of fire! We recommend having the instal-
lation carried out by an appropriately trained expert!
Please observe the installation instructions for the
TG 1000 sinus power inverter!
The 12 V cables must be routed separately from the
230 V cables (empty tube).
Route connecting cables in such a way that they cannot cha-
fe. Please use the empty tube that is available as an accessory
(part no. 60010-54500). Please also use leadthrough bushings
or edge protection profiles where there are sharp edges such
as metal panel leadthroughs.
The connecting cables and plugs must not be subjected to
force (strain relief). All cables must be securely attached and
must not become loose or disconnected due to vibration – risk
of fire!
The electrical kit must be connected in parallel to any existing
auxiliary battery charge cables.
For electrical installations with a battery capacity display, the
parallel switching may falsify the value that is being displayed.
Electrical kit connection
If an auxiliary battery has already been installed, no con-
nections must be made to the existing charge cables.
The connection must be made in parallel because of the high
charge currents.
The auxiliary battery (2) is connected to the power inverter
with the 12 V cables (1.5 m – M8 ring eye). Only one cable
must be connected to each of the connecting bolts (h and l),
with the crimped side on top.
The connection to the power inverter connecting bolts (h and
l, as per connecting diagram) must be made in the order nut,
washer, battery connection ring eye, washer, securing washer,
nut. The nut tightening torque is 11 to 15 Nm.
4
Risk of polarity inversion: Please ensure that the po-
larity is correct when the battery cables are connected!
Connecting two cables or making the connection with the
crimped side underneath is not permitted for technical safety
reasons.
Screw on the isolating relay in a suitable location. Route red
12 V cables from isolating relay (3) to positive battery termi-
nal – connect 1 m cable to auxiliary battery and 6 m cable to
starter battery (fuse in vicinity of battery in both cases).
Connect starter battery and auxiliary battery with black
12 V cable (6 m) as per connecting diagram.
Please ensure that the battery connections are secure
(with M6 bolt)!
In order to optimise the power supply of the
TG 1000 sinus power inverter, keep 12 V cables as short
as possible! Avoid loops (to prevent cables from overheat-
ing)! Have the cables shortened by an expert if necessary. If
the 12 V cables are not long enough, use longer cables with a
larger cross section (more information available from Truma).
Connection as per connecting diagram 1
– for vehicles with a positive D+ loadable connection at
alternator (please consult vehicle manufacturer)
Insert the isolating relay switching cables (6 m) into the
isolating relay, route yellow cable to alternator and connect
to D+. Connect black cable to „ground".
Connection as per connecting diagram 2
– for vehicles with negative, non-loadable D+ signal in
vehicle (e. g. Fiat Ducato from year of manufacture 2006).
If an emulated D+ signal with adequate loadability has
already been provided by the vehicle converter (consult
converter) the isolating relay (3) can be connected here.
Otherwise the D+ InverterSet (D+ inverter kit – part no.
40090-28800) and a vehicle-specific plug are also required
(not included in scope of delivery).
Install D+ relay (8) in the vicinity of the D+ substitute signal
output (7). (In the Fiat Ducato the connector is in the B-pillar
at the front passenger side – see Fiat instructions 4.1.)
Connect brown cable (86) of D+ relay to pin 13 „Power sup-
ply key on (plus key); Imax = 600 mA", and connect blue
cable (85) to pin 2 „D+ (active to ground); Imax = 300 mA".
Install isolating relay (3) in a suitable position. Attach 2-pin
plug of isolating relay switching cables (6 m) to the isolating
relay (3). Route yellow cable to D+ relay contact (87) along
shortest route and shorten cable.
Connect remaining yellow cable to starter battery + terminal
(with fuse in vicinity of battery) and contact 30 of the
D+ relay (8). Connect black cable to „ground".
