BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using the steam iron for the first time begin by ironing a piece of old fabric to verify that the soleplate
and water reservoir are clean. Repeat this when the steam iron has not been used for a period of time.
WARNING:
•
The appliance may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first time.
This is normal and will stop on its own. Make sure the appliance has sufficient ventilation.
USE - Dry ironing
1. Put the plug into the wall socket.
2. Turn the steam-control dial to the "0" position
3. Turn the temperature-control dial to the required position (see 'Ironing instructions'). The temperature-
indication light will illuminate.
4. Put the steam iron upright and wait until the temperature-indication light extinguishes.
5. Iron the fabric by sliding the iron over the fabric. While you are ironing, the heating element will
automatically switch on and off to maintain the soleplate at the set temperature. Consequently the
temperature-indication light will also automatically illuminate and extinguish.
6. When you are finished, turn the temperature-control dial to the "0" position, remove the plug
from the wall socket and put the steam iron upright so it can cool down
USE - Fillig the water reservoir
1. Remove the plug from the wall socket.
2. Turn the steam-control dial to the "0" position.
3. Fill the water reservoir with clean tap water. Use
the filling cup to fill the water reservoir.
4. Dry the exterior of the iron with a dry cloth (see
Figure 2).
WARNING:
•
Do not fill the water reservoir above the 'max' level.
Verify by this by putting the iron upright. Excess
water in the reservoir could overflow during use
and cause a short circuit.
