PLUNGE CUTTING:

The Reciprocating Saw power tool is ideal for plunge (by immersion), di-
rectly on surfaces that can not be cut from an edge, such as walls or fl oors.
However, the cutting capacity for this type of operation is limited and should
only be used for soft and thin materials such as plywood, agglomerated wood
and dry wall.Is NOT possible to perform cutting by immersion for metallic
materials, plastics, and hard and thick woods.
The plunge cutting can be done by two ways, depending on how the blade
is inserted.
The column A (fi gure 08) show how make this type of cutting with the teeth
of the Blade to down. The column B illustrates the plunge cutting with the
teeth of the Blade to up.
CAUTION: IN NO EVENT SHALL NOT MAKE the plunge cutting on

INSERT the Blade inthe machine. If the blade is inserted with the teeth
down, HOLD the machine as shown in column A, and POSITIONING the edge
of the Pivot Shoe on the material to be cut;

If the blade is inserted with the teeth up, HOLD the machine as shown
in column B, and POSITIONING the edge of the Pivot Shoe on the material
to be cut;
3.
With the Blade just above the material to be cut, PRESS the Trigger
Switch, and using the tip of the Pivot Shoe as a base, LOWER the Blade over
this material;
