Onthebottomofthecamerathereareadditionalports

Toclosethecamerabodyproceedasfollows:
1.  P laceyourDTC500onaflatsurfaceinfrontofyou.
2.  F oldoverthefrontcamerabodytotherighthand
side.
3. F oldupthelock(5)ontherightside.
4. S lidedownthelockontherighthandsideofthe
camerabody.

Inserting the batteries

YourDTC500cameraisdesignedforalkaline,lithiumor
nickel-metalhydride(NiMH)AAbatteries.Toinsertthe
batteriesopenyourcamera,insert8x1.5VoltAAbatter-
iesasinstructedinthebatterycompartment(16).Pay 
attentiontothecorrectinsertiondirection/polarity
(+/-).
Checkingthebatterystatus
SwitchtheDTC500into"SETUP"mode(mainswitch
middleposition).IntheupperleftoftheLCDscreen
thebatterystatusisdisplayedviathebatterysymbol.
Note:Youcanprolongbatterylifebyproducingsmaller
videosegments.

Tostorephotosandvideosyouneedamemorycard(SD
card).YourDTC500cameraworkswithmemorycards
ofupto16GBinsize.
Installingthememorycard
Insert the memory card into the slot (10) with the
markedsidefacingyou.MakesurethattheSDcard
slideisnotinclosedposition.
