8 RETICLE
Reticle in the second image plane
(eyepiece image plane)
When the magnification is changed, the reticle remains the
same size – although the size of the image changes, the size
of the reticle does not. Even at high magnifications, only a
little of the target is obscured.
9 PARALLAX
Your rifle scope is calibrated to a target distance of 100 m
without parallax. This means that at a distance of 100 m, the
image of the target object and the image of the reticle are
exactly on the same plane. When shooting at a distance
further or closer than 100 m, ensure that you look as centrally
as possible through the rifle scope. This helps to prevent
displacement of the point of impact due to parallax errors.

10 USING THE ILLUMINATED RETICLE
Many KAHLES rifle scopes are equipped with illuminated
reticles.
To use the illuminated reticle, turn the illumination dial clock-
wise from zero up to the level at which the reticle is sufficient
for the ambient light conditions.
brighter
To preserve battery life, always switch off the illuminated
reticle when it is not in use.
When battery power is low, the reticle begins to flash three
times every 6 seconds. The remaining operating time is only
around 2 hours, depending on the brightness setting and the
ambient temperature.
Integrated Automaticlight function
Many of our illuminated rifle scopes are equipped with an
intelligent tilt sensor. This detects whether or not the rifle
scope is in a shooting position. The Automaticlight function
transmits this information immediately to the illumination unit
and automatically switches the illuminated reticle on or off
when not in use, in order to save valuable energy.
