After use, clean the machine and rinse it with light oil or provide alternate corrosion
protection.
Regularly check and clean the air inlet screen.
ATTENTION: During operation in hazardous areas (Underground Mining, Chemical
Industry) use only the appropriate accessories (socket wrenches and extensions etc)!
Disassembly and reassembly should only be performed with assistance of the sectional drawing
and/or exploded view.
Disassembly:
Loosen 3 fillister-head screws item 43 and draw off the impact mechanism housing item 39
complete with impact mechanism from motor. Pull impact mechanism out of housing. Press bolt
item 35 out of the cross beam item 33. Now take out both hammers item 34 and anvil item 36. If
necessary, press the guide bushing item 42 out of the impact mechanism housing item 39. Pull all
inner motor parts out of motor housing item 1 and carry on to disassemble. Pay attention to seal
item 21. Check parts for wear. Remove vanes which are worn from rotor slots and replace them.
Vanes are considered to be worn, if their width is less than 12.5 mm.
Disassembly of handle with reversing
Remove snap ring item 17. Take out reversing lever item 12 and air control valve item 16 as
well as compression spring item 14 and ball item 15. Screw out connecting piece item 6. Take off
damping washer item 5 und pull out inner parts. Remove valve lever item 20 with pin item 18.
Reassembly:
Reassembly is performed essentially the same as disassembly but in reverse order.
Wear parts - especially the vanes (item 26) should be replaced in due time. They are considered
to be worn when their width is less than 12.5 mm.
In case the rotor or the cylinder bushing would be replaced or the surface re-grinded, the
longitudinal play between rotor and end plates (items 24 and 28) has to be checked. The
longitudinal play should be on both sides approx. 0.05 mm. (Cylinder bushing has to be 0.1 mm
longer than the rotor). Secure the fastening screws with Loctite 243.
After finishing of reassembly make functional gauging by checking free speed and air
consumption as specified in "TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION".
