7.1.1 To activate the standing function (Fig. 1):
Press the remote control button for 2 seconds (the joint emits 2 beep sounds at intervals of one second).
Two long beep sounds and two vibration signals follow to confirm the activation.
Operating the remote control at a flexion angle larger than 30° exclusively activates the

locking function: The joint automatically locks once full extension is reached.
7.1.2 To deactivate the standing‑ or locking function:
Again press the remote control button for 2 seconds. One long beep sound and one vibration signal
follow to confirm unlocking.
The standing function can only be activated and deactivated, when the knee joint is kept

still during operation of the remote control.
If the standing or locking function has been activated and the remote control is defective
INFORMATION
or the battery is empty, the knee joint can be unlocked by connecting the battery charger to the C-Leg
compact. This works only in the compact mode.
7.1.3 Therapy mode:
The therapy mode can only be activated by the prosthestist with the C-Soft adjustment software (from
version 2.0). Once activated, the joint is locked in full extension, for example for therapeutic applications
for early mobilization after amputation. If required, the joint can be unlocked with the remote control (e.g.
for sitting down). The hydraulic damping of the system supports the prosthesis wearer when sitting down
or standing up. The prosthesis can be loaded.
7.1.4 To unlock the knee joint:
Press the remote control button for 2 seconds (the joint emits 2 beep sounds at intervals of one sec-
ond). One long beep sound and one vibration signal follow to confirm unlocking. Now the knee joint is
unlocked and can be flexed, e.g. for sitting down (Fig. 1). The joint remains in stance phase damping
until it is brought into extension again.
As soon as the knee angle during extension is less than 7°, the joint automatically activates the lock in
the flexion direction. This is confirmed by 2 long beep sounds and 2 vibration signals (Fig. 2).
