IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury to persons, including the follo-
wing:

BLADES ARE SHARP. HANDLE CAREFULLY. STORE OUT OF REACH OF
CHILDREN.
1. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with redu-
ced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowled-
ge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of
the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Close supervision is necessary when an appliance is used by or near children.
3. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
4. Turn the appliance OFF, then unplug from the outlet when not in use, before as-
sembling or disassembling parts and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug
and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
5. Never put hands into the jug or handle the blades with appliance plugged in.
6. To protect against fire, electric shock and injuries to persons, do not place cord,
plug, or base unit in water or other liquids.
7. To reduce the risk of injury, never place any blade assembly on the base unit
unless assembled to the jug or bottle.
8. The use of attachments, including canning or ordinary jars, not recommended
or sold by Braun may cause fire, electrical shock, or risk of injury to persons.
9. Regularly inspect the power cord, power plug and actual appliance for any
damage. Do not operate if damaged in any way or after the appliance malfunc-
tions. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized Braun service center for
examination, repair or adjustment.
10. Avoid any contact with blades or moveable parts.
11. Do not use outdoors or for anything other than its intended purpose.
12. Do not use the blender for anything other than food and/or beverage prepara-
tion. Misuse may cause injury.
13. Never leave your blender unattended while it is running.
14. Keep hands and utensils out of the jug while blending to reduce the risk of seve-
re injury to persons or damage to the blender itself. A rubber or plastic spatula
may be used, but must be used only when the blender is turned OFF.
15. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface.
16. Flashing light indicates ready to operate. Avoid any contact with blades.
17. Do not operate without the lid in place. Remain the measuring cap in place
when blending hot liquids.
18. We suggest you save all packing materials in the event that future shipping of
the machine is needed. Keep all plastic bags away from children.
19. Tamper provided must be used only when the main part of the lid is in place.
