Connecting monitor television
Turntable
Connect the turntable's output cord L (white) plug to the L PHONO ter-
minal and the R (red) plug to the R terminal.
!f your turntable is equipped
with a grounding cable, connect it to the unit's GND terminal.
But dis-
connect it if you notice increased hum.
Tape deck
When a single tape deck is to be used, connect it to the TAPE-1 termi-
nals.
A second tape deck may be connected to the TAPE-2 terminals,
allowing
you
to perform
simultaneous
recording
or tape
dubbing
(copying).
Recording connections:
Connect the tape recording (REC) terminals to
the recording input (LINE IN) terminals on the tape deck using the
pin plug cord.
Playback connections:
Connect the tape playback (PLAY) terminals to
the playback output (LINE OUT) terminals on the tape deck using the
pin plug cord.
AUXI/DA terminals
The AUX/DA terminals are supplementary terminals with the same elec-
trical specifications as the TAPE PLAY terminals.
The output from a
compact disc player, or output from a playback-only deck may be con-
nected to these terminals.
AM loop antenna connection
Connect the cord of the accessory AM loop antenna to the AM LOOP
antenna terminals, and attach it to the accessory antenna holder.
Peel
off the adhesive tape on the reverse side of the antenna holder and at-
tach it to a wall or pillar with the range of the loop antenna cord. When
tuning into AM stations, move the antenna to the left or right and set
it in the direction which yields the optimum reception.
*
AM reception is not possible with the loop antenna detached.
Even
if an outdoor AM antenna is erected, keep this loop antenna in place.
*
Do not bring the power cord or the speaker cords near the loop an-
tenna since noise will be generated.
Outdoor AM antenna
When the signals of an AM station received are weak, the sound is
crowded out by other broadcast stations and noise is heard. In particu-
lar, the signals are weaker indoors than outdoors while noise can also
be picked up from other electrical appliances. In cases like this, proceed
as follows:
1. Move the loop antenna and find the position which yields the best
reception.
2. Place the power cord and speaker cords away from the loop antenna.
3. Try changing the installation location.
If the reception is still not improved, twist a vinyl-covered conductor
and the loop antenna conductor together and connect one end to the
AM LOOP antenna terminals and extend the other end outdoors.
*
Keep the loop antenna attached even when erecting an outdoor AM
antenna. Reception of AM stations is not possible once the loop an-
tenna is removed.
