EN – SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH DIRECTIVE 2014/34/EU - J-OT-ST ATEX
The pumping units (pump coupled to a motor) of the series J, OT and ST, in accordance with directive 2014/34/EU, have the following
identification marking
II 2/2 G Ex IIB T5...T3 Gb X
The meaning of the abbreviations shown in the marking is as follows:
Symbol
Symbol of conformity to the European directives applicable to the equipment
Safety symbol with reference to Directive 2014/34/EU
II
Set of equipment intended for installation in surface installations other than mines
Internal/external category of the equipment, which is designed to operate in conformity to the
2/2
operating parameters established by the manufacturer and to guarantee a high level of protection
both inside and outside the equipment itself
Type of atmosphere: equipment intended to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres due to the
G
presence of gas, vapours or mists
Ex
Equipment for which an explosion protection mode has been adopted
h
Non-electric equipment
IIB
Group of fluids
T5...T3
Temperature classes of the equipment
Gb
Equipment protection level (EPL)
Letter that indicates that there are specific conditions to be respected to maintain the desired level
X
of safety; these conditions are indicated in the Instructions
4. OPERATING LIMITS
The standard atmospheric conditions in which the pump can operate are:
-
temperature from -20 °C to +40 °C;
-
pressure from 80 kPa (0.8 bar) to 110 kPa (1.1 bar);
-
air with normal oxygen content, typically 21% v/v.
Check for any limitations in the instructions.
The pumps are designed to work properly if the following limitations are fulfilled:
2
Viscosity: up to 50 mm
/s
Liquid temperature:
-
from -20 °C to +100 °C (compatibly with the construction materials: if in doubt, contact the Technical office)
pH:
-
from 3 to 14 (compatibly with the construction materials: if in doubt, contact the Technical office)
5. INSTALLATION AND START-UP
Assembly of the electric motor (range JP)
The JP range pumps must be assembled with an electric motor compliant with international IEC standard 60034-7 and in
compliance with the characteristics shown in Table 1.
