battery, if possible, to check correct functionality of the
charger and purchase a replacement battery if a faulty
battery is indicated
Do not store Lithium-ion battery packs in a discharged state
long term. This can damage the Lithium-ion cells. For long-
term storage, store batteries in a high charge state
disconnected from the power tool
4.
The capacity of batteries will reduce over time. After 100
charge cycles, the battery's operation time and the
performance will slightly reduce. This decline will continue
until the battery has minimal capacity after 500 charge
cycles. This is normal and not a fault with the battery pack
Fitting a blade
WARNING: Always disconnect the tool from the power supply before
attaching or changing any accessories or making any adjustments.
WARNING: Always wear suitable gloves when handling blades or
other sharp accessories.
WARNING: ONLY fit blades that are in perfect condition. Blunt, bent,
and cracked blades should be discarded
IMPORTANT: ALWAYS use the correct blade type for the material to be cut
(refer to the blade manufacturer's guidelines before use)
1.
Turn the Blade Holder Lever (19) fully anticlockwise (Fig. III
(a)) and hold in position
2.
Insert a suitable Blade (16) into the Blade Holder (18) (Fig.
III (b)), ensuring the teeth of the blade are facing away from
the tool and the blade is located in the centre of the Blade
Guide Roller (15) (Fig. III (c))
3.
Release the Blade Holder Lever
4.
Check that the blade is secure and cannot be pulled out of
the Blade Holder
5.
To remove a blade, repeat step 1 and gentle pull the blade
out of the Blade Holder
6.
Release the Blade Holder Lever
Note: ALWAYS apply a lubricant between the blade and the roller, if you
plan on cutting metal or other hard materials.
Adjusting the pendulum action
1.
Turn the Pendulum Adjustment Lever (10) to increase or
decrease the pendulum action of the blade, which should
be set according to the material to cut
2.
Test the setting on a scrap piece before doing the actual
cut, in order to check the result
The following table provides an approximation of the pendulum action to
set.
MATERIALS
Wood and plasterboard
Plastic & plywood
Steel, non-ferrous metals, thin
materials, fragile materials
Adjusting the bevel angle
Note: This jigsaw is equipped with an adjustable Base Plate (14), which
allows bevel cuts to be made up to 45° to the left or right.
1.
Invert the jigsaw and loosen, but do not remove, the two
Base Plate Adjustment Screws (12) using the supplied Hex
Key (11) (Fig. IV (a))
2.
Disengage the Base Plate from the Base Plate Guide (13) by
sliding toward the rear of the tool (Fig. IV) (b)
3.
Adjust the Base Plate to the required angle (Fig. IV (c))
PENDULUM ACTION
Maximum (position 2 or 3)
Minimum (position 1)
None (position 0)
4.
Slide the Base Plate toward the front of the tool to engage
with the Base Plate Guide (Fig. IV) (d)
5.
Tighten the Base Plate Adjustment Screws (Fig. IV (e))
6.
Before use, ensure that the Base Plate is secured firmly in
position.
7.
Do a test on a scrap workpiece to check the angle selected
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear appropriate safety equipment. Use of this
tool requires eye protection, gloves, ear defenders, and good quality
respiratory protection.
WARNING: Ensure you have read and understood the Safety and
Before Use sections of this manual before using this tool.
Switching ON & OFF
1.
Hold the jigsaw securely using the Handle (4)
2.
Press and hold the Trigger Lock (2)
3.
Squeeze the ON/OFF Trigger Switch (3) to turn the tool on
4.
Release the Trigger Lock
5.
Allow the blade to reach full speed before cutting
6.
Release the ON/OFF Trigger Switch, to turn the tool off
Making a cut
1.
Ensure that the workpiece being cut is securely held in place
and that the cut line is clearly marked.
2.
Hold the jigsaw securely by the Handle (4). For additional
stability and control use the Auxiliary Handle (1) with the other
hand
3.
Rest the front edge of the Base Plate (14) on the edge of the
workpiece (Fig. V)
Note: If starting a cut away from the edge of the workpiece, drill a pilot
hole inside the workpiece, large enough for the blade to pass through,
where you wish to start the cut.
4.
Use the Cutting Guide (17) as a reference for the cutting line of
the blade (Fig. VI)
5.
Check that the blade is not in contact with the workpiece, or
any other object
6.
Switch the tool ON (see 'Switching ON & OFF')
7.
Allow the motor to reach full speed, and smoothly push the
jigsaw forwards across the workpiece
8.
Maintain a steady movement and ensure that the Base Plate is
kept pressed against the workpiece.
9.
Allow the blade to pass through the material before releasing
the ON/OFF Trigger Switch (3)
10.
Alternatively, if the cut does not reach the edge of the
workpiece, back the saw blade teeth away from the cutting
face and release the ON/OFF Trigger Switch. Allow the blade to
stop moving before lifting out of the cut
WARNING: DO NOT place the tool down until the motor and blade
have completely stopped
Metal cutting
ALWAYS use a suitable coolant/cutting oil when cutting
metal. Failure to do so will cause significant blade wear
A continuous line of grease can be applied to the
underneath of the workpiece, instead of applying a coolant
from above
Apply lubricant or cutting oil between the blade and roller
when cutting metal or other hard materials. Failure to do so
will shorten the service life of your blade and roller
Using the parallel guide
It is possible to do a cut parallel to the edge of the workpiece by installing
the Parallel Guide (21) on the Base Plate (14)
1.
Remove the Battery (6) (Fig. I (b))
2.
Loosen the Parallel Guide Adjustment Screws (22) using the
supplied Hex Key (11) (Fig. VII)
