3. Always hold the device with both
hands: One hand on the handle (8)
and the other hand on the front handle
(4).
4. Press the safety switch (21) on the front
handle (4).
5. NOTICE! Before switching the machine
on, make sure that it is not touching
any objects.
Press and hold the safety switch (21)
on the front handle (4) while pressing
the On/Off switch (7) on the handle
(8).
The device runs at the lowest speed.
For setting the speed, refer to the
section "Setting the stroke rate,
p. 37".
Switching off
1. Release one of the two switches.
2. Wait until the power tool has stopped
before placing it down.
3. Remove the rechargeable battery (9)
from the device if you are leaving the
device unattended or if you have fin-
ished working.
Checking the charge status
of the battery in the device
1. Press the button for the charge level in-
dicator (18) on the operational control
(5).
The charge level of the battery is indic-
ated by illumination of the correspond-
ing LEDs on the charge level indicator
(17).
During operation, the charge level of
the battery is permanently displayed
on the charge level indicator on the
device (17).

2. Charge the battery (9) when only the
red LED on the charge level indicator
on the device (17) is illuminated.
Transport
Notes
• Switch off the device and remove the
rechargeable battery. Make sure that
all moving parts have come to a com-
plete stop.
• Always transport the hedge trimmer
with the blade encasing (13).
• Always carry the device by the handle
(8).
Cleaning, maintenance
and storage
WARNING! Risk of injury due to un-
intentional start-up. Protect yourself when
performing maintenance or cleaning work.
Switch off the device and remove the bat-
tery (9).
You should have any repair and mainten-
ance work that is not described in these
instructions carried out by our Service
Centre. Only use original replacement
parts.
Cleaning
WARNING! Electric shock! Never
spray down the device with water.
NOTICE! Risk of damage. Chemical sub-
stances may attack the plastic parts of the
machine. Do not use any cleaning agents
or solvents.
• Keep the ventilation slits, motor housing
and handles of the machine clean. Use
a damp cloth or brush to do this.
