Theoretical functional principle
The Cable Locater consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The signal generated by the
transmitter consist of a modulatet current. Generating a magnetic field arround a conductor
, see figure 1. This electromagnetic field arround the conductor induces a voltage in the
receiver coil.
The induced voltage is amplified and decoded by the receiver, transformed to the original
signal and indicated in the optical display. This means, the transmitter must always be
connected as to ensure a complete circuit .
