To maintain good performance
Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or
humid. In particular. do not keep the unit
ina high humidity area such as a bathroom
- near a heater
+ in an area exposed to direct sunlight (eg., inside a parked car, please
be careful because it may become extremely hot)
Usable power sources
The unit may be powered by the rechargeable battery (AIWA PB-S5),
two RO3 (AAA) batteries, or AC house current using the optional
AC adaptor.
AC voltage (H type only) > CA}
Some of the AC adaptors have a voltage selector switch. To switch it, use
a screwdriver or sharp object. Either 115V or 230V can be selected for
110V-120V or 220V-240V respectively.
Notes on listening with the headphones
* Listen at a moderate voiume to avoid hearing damage
* To ensure safety, do not wear them while driving or cycling

Volume of the main unit
When listening with the headphones, set the VOLUME control of the main
unit to around 4 to 6.
When used for the first time
If data for clock and radio seem difficult to preset, first reset by following
the procedures on page 58
