5. Place the battery on a horizontal surface and in an upright position, with the terminal poles facing
upwards.
6. Make sure there is at least 10 cm clearance around the battery.
Connecting:
1. Connect the negative terminal of the battery to the negative terminal of the load.
2. Connect the positive terminal of the battery to the positive terminal of the load.
3. If you use screws to connect consumers instead of the supplied battery terminals, make sure that these
screws are not longer than 10mm.
4. WARNING! If bolts that are too long are used, the connection won't be good. This leads to large contact
resistances and can cause the battery or equipment to spark or turn off.
5. Use proper cabling with a sufficient diameter.
•
For the MLB-100 smart and MLB-100 LN5 smart: use copper cabling with a size of at least 16mm2.
•
For the MLB-120 smart: use copper cabling with a size of at least 25mm2.
•
For the MLB-150 smart, MLB-200 smart and MLB-300 smart: use copper cabling with a size of at least
35mm2.
6. Use a red cable for connection to the positive terminal and a black or blue cable for connection to the
negative terminal.
7. Tighten all connections securely. Recommended tightening torque for M8 is 9.9 - 14 Nm. Do not use too
great a tightening torque, as this can lead to irreparable damage to the battery.
8. WARNING! Install a fuse and a main switch to the power circuit according to local regulations. Place the
fuse as close as possible to the positive terminal of the battery.
9. After the first use, check all connections for (over)heating. Repair or replace connections that have become
too hot.
10. Check the wiring and connections at least once a year. Immediately repair defects such as loose
connections and burnt cables.
Connecting in parallel or in series:
1. Do not connect the battery in series or in parallel with any other type of battery.
2. The different battery models cannot be connected in series. However, the same battery model can support
up to 2 batteries in series.
3. The different battery models cannot be connected in parallel. The same battery model can support up to 8
batteries in parallel.
4. If both a series connection and parallel connection are used simultaneously, the parallel connection must
be established first, followed by the series connection. The maximum configuration allows for 2 batteries in
series and 8 batteries in parallel connection.
5. When connecting batteries in parallel, connect the positive terminals of the batteries with a cable and
similarly connect the negative terminals using another cable until the desired capacity is reached.
