Translated from the originalinstructions
Avoid highly corrosive or dusty environments. In the event of
an extended operations stop, you are strongly recommended
to put the refrigerant fluid in the tank if there is one fitted onto
the condensation unit. The aim of this operation is to avoid the
refrigerant migrating to the compressor and any concentration
of fluid within the lubricant that may cause "liquid slugs"
during recommissioning.
Circuit leak-tightness
■ 4.1.
Systematically check all connections for any refrigerant leaks
with an electronic leak detector suitable for the type of
refrigerant used. Leak detection can be carried out before the
vacuum purge using a pre-loading of nitrogen and an aerosol
(tracer fluids are prohibited). A more accurate check will be
carried out after charging to ensure the integrity of the
refrigerant circuit using a detector.
Vacuum purging
■ 4.2.
Vacuum purge the system in order to achieve a residual
pressure of around 200 micrometers of mercury or 0.27 mBar
using a vacuum pump provided for this purpose.
It is recommended to simultaneously vacuum purge both high
and low pressure sides of the system to ensure a uniform
vacuum throughout the circuit, including the compressor, and
reduce the cycle time.
Refrigerant charge
■ 4.3.
Charge the system using only the refrigerant for which the unit
has been
designed. The use of A2L refrigerants is strictly
forbidden in WINTSYS. Refrigerant
place in the liquid phase in order to maintain the correct blend
of azeotropic refrigerants. Pre-charging should be performed
on the liquid piping. The remaining refrigerant can be charged
in the suction line until the nominal operating conditions of the
system are reached (operational installation). Please consult
the section on "Pre-start checks" before switching on. Never
start the compressor under a vacuum, whether high or low
pressure, and ensure that the compressor housing is
pressurized. To do this, it is recommend to slowly charge the
refrigeration circuit to 4 or 5 bar when using R452A / R449A /
R448A / R404A, and approximately 2 bar when using R513a/R-
134a.
Pre-start checks
The condensing temperature must not exceed 63°C during the
transition periods. Keep the condensing unit away from any
heat source.
1. Compatibility of the power supply voltage with the unit.
2. Electrical safety devices are calibrated.
3. Service valves are fully open.
4. Operation of the crankcase heater or heating belt. The
compressor must be at a temperature greater than 10°C
before start-up.
5. Ensure condensing unit fan blades rotate freely.
6. Inspect the installation for any possible defects.
7. The design of the refrigerant system should be such that it
does not allow the compressor to start more than 6 to 8
times per hour.

Checks after start-up
After several hours of operation, perform the following checks:
1. Voltage and current absorbed by the unit.
2. Safety pressure switch adjustments.
3. High and low pressure of the system.
4. Condensing unit fan rotates freely.
5. System overheat and subcooling.
6. Checks on the compressor oil level.
7. Check again for refrigerant leaks.
8. For offset units, please refer to the manual for usage
recommendations.
Make sure that the system is generally running smoothly.
Carry out a general inspection of the installation (cleanliness,
unusual noises, etc.).
Ensure the settings of controls and safety devices are correct
and functioning correctly.
A lack of refrigerant can be signaled by:
- High and low pressures that are too low.
- Abnormally high overheating.
- The presence of bubbles in the liquid sight glass.
Excess of refrigerant can be signaled by:
- Excessively high pressure.
- Compressor cycling.
- Significant subcooling.
- Insufficient overheating or liquid feedback.

- MAINTENANCE
No modifications to the WINTSYS® unit are permitted without
the prior authorization of TECUMSEH. Faulty parts must be
replaced with original spare parts and maintenance must be
done in accordance with local regulations. In order to maintain
the acoustic quality of the product over time, it is
recommended to change the external suspensions as soon as
they appear to drop off in quality. Access to the Connections,
Fan, Compressor compartments can be done using the side
door and also from the front of the unit without removing the
top.
Condenser
■ 5.1.
The unit heat exchanger should be cleaned at least once a year.
It is possible to access the inside of the unit by lifting the front
of the fan.
Replacing the fan
■ 5.2.
Read Appendix 8
- Disconnect the fan cable from the unit block.
- Remove the 4 support attachment screws.
- Extract the fan assembly + support.
- Replace the fan motor and its capacitor.
