4 MAINTENANCE
4.1
Maintenance schedule
AQUA-BASE
The
unit must be regularly maintained in order to avoid the occurrence of defects which could affect
its efficiency, its operation and its reliability. The intervals between maintenance of the

To prevent accidental start-up, ALWAYS disconnect the machine from it's power source when performing
maintenance tasks on any electrical of hydraulic part of the machine.
Plunger pumps have a were-in time that should be accounted for. Therefor, the first oil change should be
carried out after the first 50 running hours of the pump.
NB: For in-depth maintenance and troubleshooting of the HP pump, consult the dedicated service manual of the CAT
3CP1221 (60l-240l) or 5CP6221 (300l) pump.
4.2
Maintenance kits
For an ease of use and to have availability of parts needed,

includes a LP- and a HP-pressure sensor and 2 stainless steel plugs with seal to isolate a
malfunctionning membrane (see Annexe A8-04).
4.3
Replacement of the filter cartridge
•
Stop the unit.
•
Close the main intake valve (V1).
•
Open the filter by unscrewing the tightening nut using the filter spanner.
•
Free the used cartridges by setting down the filter bowl.
•
Replace the used cartridges with a genuine new one (see colours).
•
Wipe and lightly oil the seal with a food graded grease.
•
Reset the filter after having checked the cartridge position.
•
Screw the tightening nut by hand.
Do not reverse the 20µ and 5µ cartridges.
(The center of the 20µ cartridge is red or pink, that of the 5µ is of green).
The filter bowl is designed for a 10" cartridge. There are also 9¾" cartridges (American standard) on the
market, but they do not provide a seal inside the bowl resulting in insufficient filtration to ensure the
protection of the membranes. If this type of cartridge is used, with or without a foam seal to compensate for
the difference in height,
