Cleaning process
Most PVA support structures will dissolve in 1 – 8 hours. This depends on the size and density of the
support structure.
1.
Pause the rotor by pressing the rotor button at the front of the machine
2.
Lift the rinsing basket out of the container and rotate it 90° to lower it into the parking position
3.
Inspect the print
Tip: To speed up the process, use the PVA scratch tool to remove larger chunks of PVA
support material.
4.
Place the rinsing basket in the container until all PVA has dissolved
5.
Turn off the PVA Removal Station using the power button
6.
Place the basket in the parking position to let the printed model dry
Tip: The top cover turned upside down can be used as a dripping tray to transport the rinsing basket
with wet models.
Saturation indication
The water will slowly become saturated with PVA after each use. Using fresh water will speed up
the cleaning process. It is recommended to regularly check the saturation level.
1.
Turn off the PVA Removal Station using the power button
2.
Remove the top cover and lift the rinsing basket out of the container
3.
Look down into the PVA Removal Station at the saturation indicator at the bottom
4.
Determine if the ring can be divided into two colored segments
5.
If the ring appears as one uniform color, the water is saturated with PVA and the water
should be disposed of
PVA is a biodegradable material and can be disposed of down the drain, providing the
waste water distribution network is connected to a wastewater treatment plant. Check local
regulations and refer to the PVA Removal Station user manual for more details.
Make sure the docking station is clean and dry before placing the container on top. Remove
all PVA residue with a moist towel and dry the docking station.
