Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING!
•
To prevent the risk of electrocution, turn off and unplug the unit from the wall
socket before cleaning it.
•
Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning.
•
Do not immerse the power cord, plug or base unit in water or any other liquids
as they contain electrical components. Do not rinse them under the tap.
•
Clean the fondue set after each use.
•
Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects
or scouring pads to clean the appliance. Use mild liquid dish detergent.
•
Wipe the base unit with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water. To remove stubborn
stains, wipe with a soft cloth lightly moistened with warm soapy water. Dry the base unit
thoroughly with a soft dry cloth after cleaning.
•
Wash the fondue pot, splatter guard and fondue forks in warm soapy water with a soft
cloth or sponge. To remove stuck-on food, soak them for a few minutes before cleaning.
Rinse well and allow to dry.
•
Allow all parts to dry completely before using.
NOTE:
The interior of the fondue pot may become slightly darker or yellowish with use over
time. This is normal and does not affect the performance of the non-stick coating.
Disposal of used oil
•
Let the oil cool down in the fondue pot.
•
Scrape the grease and pour the oil into a resealable container. Close the lid tightly.
•
When the container is full, throw it in the garbage. You can also collect used oil in a
container and take it to your local household waste recycling centre.
•
Wipe down the fondue pot with paper towel or used paper napkin before washing.
WARNING!
Do not dispose of used cooking oil directly in the household waste, or pour it down
the drains (sinks, toilets). It can block your household pipes. Check with local
authorities for the proper method of disposal.
