● Hold the power tool by the insulated handles when performing work where the power tool can come
into contact with concealed electric cables or its own mains lead. Contact with a live cable can also put
metal parts of the device under voltage and lead to electric shock.
● Secure the workpiece to be machined against being fl ung away. There is a risk of injury.
● Hold the power tool only by the switch handle (7) for all jobs. High torques can occur temporarily especially
when tightening and loosening screws.
● Do not reach into moving parts. There is a risk of injury.
● Only operate the preselection lever for the speed range when the power tool is at a standstill. If this
cannot be pushed up to the stop, turn the drill chuck slightly.
● Switch off the power tool immediately if the tool jams. There is a risk of injury.
● Only apply the power tool for drilling or to the screw when it is off. Rotating tool attachments can slip off.
● More the rotation direction switch (4) to the middle rest position and/or remove the battery before
performing any work on the power tool (e.g. tool change, maintenance). There is a danger of injury from
accidental operation of the safety switch (5).
● Do not look directly into the LED work light (6). Danger of blinding.
● Dusts from materials, metals and some types of wood can be harmful to health and lead to allergic reactions,
affl ictions of the respiratory
affl ictions of the respiratory tract and/or cancer. Wear a respirator of fi lter class FFP2 if necessary. Material
affl ictions of the respiratory tract and/or cancer. Wear a respirator of fi lter class FFP2 if necessary. Material
containing asbestos may only be handled by specialists.
● Do not use the power tool if it is damaged. There is a danger of accident.
● Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and
knowledge are unable to operate the power tool safely may not use this power tool without supervision
or instruction by a responsible person. Otherwise there is a risk of operating errors and injuries.
● Only allow trained persons to use the power tool. Apprentices may only use the power tool when they are
over 16, when this is necessary for their training and when they are supervised by a trained operative.
● Check the mains lead of the power tool and extension leads regularly for damage. Have these renewed
by qualifi ed experts or an authorised REMS customer service workshop in case of damage.
● Only use approved and appropriately marked extension leads with a suffi cient cable cross-section. Use
extension leads up to a length of 10 m with cable cross-section 1.5 mm², from 10 – 30 m with cable cross-section
2.5 mm².
● Observe the national regulations.
Safety instructions when using long drills
● Never work with a higher speed than the maximum permissible speed for the drill. At higher speeds, the
drill can easily bend when it is able to turn freely without contact with the workpiece and can cause injuries.
● Always begin the drilling process at low speed and with the drill in contact with the workpiece. At higher
speeds, the drill can easily bend when it is able to turn freely without contact with the workpiece and can cause
injuries.
● Do not apply excessive pressure to the drill and only in longitudinal direction. Drills can bend and then
break or lead to loss of control and injuries.
