3. Instructions for first use
Your instrument is basically in a ready-to-play condition. The bridge is in place and the
strings have been pre-tuned at the factory. Nevertheless, tune the cello to the
notes C-G-D-A using a tuning fork or tuner, starting from the lowest to the highest string.
Note here that the bridge does not tilt to either fingerboard or endpin side.
Make sure that a 9V block battery is inserted and that there is a connection either by
cable to an amplifier or headphones. After connecting the desired connection,
wait a few seconds until the pickup is ready to operate. Likewise, the selector switch must
be in the desired position (Amp/Headphone). The output on the preamp
(6.35-mm jack, mono) is correct here for both possibilities. The 9V block should be
removed during longer breaks in playing to avoid damage to the instrument.
