3. ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Note: The Crank Arm on your CP400™ Silent Cranking Device
is designed to attach to either the right or left side of the
crank assembly.
A. Attaching the Crank Arm
1. After determining
which side to attach
the Crank Arm, align
the crank arm so that
the #6-32 x 3/8 torx
screw (T10 bit) aligns
with the threaded
hole in the crank shaft.
With the crank arm
seated correctly, firmly
tighten the screw.
B. Install the Mounting
Clamp
1. Align the clamp as
shown in Fig. 1A with
the screws loose. The
orientation of the
clamp top half (Fig. 1B)
should be such that
the rounded edges
face the entry of the
Crank Assembly. With the clamp seated all the way
forward, firmly tighten the screws.
C. Attach the Crank Assembly to the Mounting Clamp
1. Insert the Crank Assembly into the clamp as shown
in Fig. 1C.

Note: The pulling force from drawing the crossbow will
securely hold the Cranking Device in position, no other
retention method is needed.
4. OPERATING THE CRANKING DEVICE
Note: Make sure the crossbow safety is in the "Fire" position
before cocking.
A. Connecting the String Sled
1. With the Cranking Device in one hand, move the
pawl into the unlock position and hold it down. Then
with the other hand, begin to unwind the device by
cranking in reverse and removing the slack by pull-
ing on the sled, or by pulling the sled outward with
the other hand while allowing the crank arm to spin
freely. CAUTION: Attach the String Sled to the cross-
bow string by making sure the string grooves on the
String Sled are fully engaged on the crossbow string
(Fig. 2). Be sure the ropes are clear from obstructions,
not crossed and are running parallel to the rail of the
crossbow(Fig. 3).
WARNING:
ALWAYS KEEP FIRM CONTROL ON THE
CRANK HANDLE AT ALL TIMES WHILE THE
CRANK COCKING DEVICE IS IN OPERATION.
