4. Operating the monitor
• The Baby Unit should be placed at least 5 feet away from the baby's crib on a flat surface.
Alternatively, it can be wall-mounted.
• Never place the Baby Unit inside the crib, bed or playpen.
• Make sure the unit, cords and mains adaptor are out of reach of the baby and other young
children. To avoid a strangulation hazard, the power cords should be secured and never be hung
on or near the baby.
• Place the baby monitor in a place where the air can circulate freely and avoid blocking ventilation
and speaker openings.
• Aim the camera(s) to best optimize the viewing area: Select a location for the camera that
provides a clear view of the area you want to monitor, which is free from dust, and is not in line-of-
sight to a strong light source or direct sunlight. Avoid installing the camera where there are thick
walls or obstructions between the camera and the monitor.
• To use your Parent Unit and Baby Unit together, you must be able to establish a radio link between
them. The range will be affected by environmental conditions:
- Any large metal object, like a refrigerator, a mirror, a filing cabinet, metallic doors or
concrete between the baby and parent Unit may block the radio signal.
- The signal strength may also be reduced by other solid structures, like walls, or by radio or elec
trical equipment, such as TV, computers, cordless or mobile phones,
dimmer switches.
- Use of other 2.4GHz product, such as wireless networks (Wi-Fi routers), Bluetooth systems, or
microwave ovens, may cause interference with this product, so keep the
at least 5ft (1.5m) from these types of products, or turn them off if they appear to be causing
interference.
Note: If you place the Parent and Baby Units too close together you will hear a high
pitched noise called "feedback", this is normal. The units are designed to be located in
separate rooms.
4.1 Turning ON the Baby Unit
• Connect the Baby Unit (Camera) Power Adapter to the DC-Jack on the back of the Baby Unit.
• Plug the AC power adapter into the wall outlet.
• The unit will power on automatically and the green power LED will light up.
• Unplug the Baby Unit to turn it off.
NOTE: Only use the AC power adapter included in this package.
