Direction for use
This LEGO® Technic Control Set contains elements and building instructions specially
developed for use in connection with a micro computer and an interface. To ensure
the correct use of the materials we have stated the conditions under which the compo¬
nents listed below should be used:
1. LEGO sensors
2. 4.5 V DC LEGO motor
3. Leads and plugs
1.
LEGO sensors
the set contains 2 different types of sensors, a touch sensor and an optosensor.
1.1
LEGO optosensor
This sensor has been specially developed for use together with a LEGO Interface. The
optosensor connects to the LEGO Interface by means of an ordinary LEGO lead, plugged
into one of the input sockets marked 7 and 6. The optosensor is able to function as
a reflection sensor - together with the counting disk (revolution counter) as well as
with a yellow brick (position indicator). Furthermore it can be used together with an
external light source, the 4.5 V LEGO light brick1 . When connected the optosensor is
supplied with current from the interface, and functions as a digital sensor registering
the change between light and dark.
Note:
To protect the elettronics the optosensor must not be connected to more than 9 V
DC.
1.2
LEGO Touch sensor
The touch sensor connects to the LEGO
Interface by means of an ordinary LEGO
lead, plugged into one of the input sock¬
ets marked 6 and 7.
When the grey button on the touch sensor
is pressed it makes an audible sound and
the green light on the corresponding input
port is turned on.
