The Compact Disc player is completely safe for chil-
dren to use. The laser operates at very low power and
is concealed within the player mechanism. Even when
the player is disassembled, the laser remains sealed
PROBLEM:
Power button is pressed, but power
does not come on.
Disc is loaded in the disc tray, but play Disc is up-side-down in tray; disc is dirty Insert discs properly; clean the disc
will not commence
Disc keeps skipping and/or search time Dirty or damaged disc
to a different track is extremely long
No sound
No sound in one channel
Some tracks cannot be programmed
for Memory Play

TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
CAUSE:
AC line cord is not properly connected
to live AC outlet
Incorrect connections; wrong input
selected on amplifier (such as Tape
Monitor)
Incorrect connections; balance on
amplifier set to one channel only
Track number on selected disc doesn't
exist; no disc in the tray
within an optical system that causes its light to focus
only 1 millimetre from the lens and then diverge rapidly,
reducing its intensity to negligible levels.
REMEDY:
Insert plug firmly
Clean (see chapter 'Handling Compact
Discs) or replace disc
Check all connections; select correct input
and disengage Tape Monitor on amplifier
Check all connections; re-set balance on
amplifier to mid-position
Select tracks present on the disc only;
insert disc in tray
