Cleaning and disinfecting
Particularcareinmattersofhygieneisrequiredduringpreparationandinhalationbecause
ofthemistparticlesizethatcanenterthealveoli�Thenebulisationofmedicinesshould
onlybecarriedoutwithmedicinecups�
Warning!Donotuseflammableorotherexplosiveliquidsasacontactliquidoranaerosol�
Preparation: R emovetheintravenousdeviceandtubingfromthenebuliserchamberand
thebacteriafilter�Pullthenebuliserchambercoveroffthenebuliserchamber�
Procedure: T heindividualpartsoftheultrasonicnebulisercanbecleanedanddisinfectedin
accordancewiththedetailsinthefollowingtable�
Warning! B eforecleaningordisinfecting,thedevicemustbedisconnectedfromanyexter-
nalpowersupply,asotherwisethereisariskofanelectricshock�
When doing this, please note the following:
1� T hepartsmustbecleanedandthendriedbeforetheyaredisinfected�Dirtparticlescan
becomeencapsulatedandthiscanleadtothedevicepartsnotbeingsterileafterdisin-
fection�Therefore,beforedisinfection,alldevicepartsmustbecleanedproperlyandany
stubbornmarksmustberemovedwithaclothanddetergent�
2� W henusingdisinfectant,pleasefollowthemanufacturers'adviceandthatofhygiene
experts�
Warning! R iskofinjury!Disinfectantscancontainsubstanceswhichareharmfultohealth,
andwhichcancauseinjuryiftheycomeintocontactwithskinandeyes�Protect
yourskinandeyesandwhenworkingwithdisinfectants,observethehygiene
regulations�
Caution! C hangesinmaterials!Almostallcomponentsoftheultrasonicnebuliseraremade
ofplastic�Solvents,manydisinfectantsorcleanerscanpartiallydissolveplasticsor
causestresscracks�Thereforedonotuseasolutionwhichcontainshydrocarbonor
alcoholtocleanthesurfaces�
3� A fterdisinfectioninthesolution,alldevicepartsmustberinsedthoroughlywithwater
andthendriedimmediately�
4�Autoclavingwithheatedsteamcancausechangesinmaterials�
Caution! C hangesinmaterials!Autoclavingwithheatedsteamwillacceleratethenatural
ageingprocessofplastics�Changesinmaterialcanaffectthefunctionalityofthe
deviceparts�
5�Aftercleaning,youmustcarryoutafunctionalcheck�
Caution! F unctionalcheck!Aftercleaningordisinfecting,youmustcheckthatthedevice
partsarefunctioningcorrectly�
