Description
The 2010-2-PIB peripherals interface board provides up to
eight configurable inputs and outputs for compatible control
panels.
The number of inputs and outputs available depends on the
board purchased. The available boards are shown in the table
below.

The board can be powered from the control panel or from an
external power supply, providing 24 VDC to each of the
supervised outputs.
Inputs and outputs (excluding relay outputs) are supervised for
short circuit and open circuit faults.

Installation
WARNING:
Electrocution hazard. To avoid personal injury or
death from electrocution, remove all sources of power and
allow stored energy to discharge before installing or removing
equipment.
Install the board as described below. Be sure to confirm
system power requirements before connecting outputs. See
"System power requirements" below.

Notes:
The board is not designed for installation in small cabinet
control panels.
To install the 2010-2-PIB-8I8O the control panel main
board must be PCB_2010_2MB Is.5 Rev.1 (or later). Do
not install the 2010-2-PIB-8I8O in control panels with an
earlier version of the main board.
To install the board:
1.
Install the board into slot 1 of the control panel chassis, as
shown in Figure 1, and secure it to the chassis with the
screws provided.
2.
Connect inputs to IN1 to IN8 and outputs to OUT1 to
OUT8. See Figure 2 for input and output locations on the
board.
Terminate inputs and outputs according to system
requirements (see "Specifications" below). Class A output
wiring is not supported.
Configure relay outputs as described in "Relay output
configuration" below.
3.
Connect an external 24 VDC power supply to EXT IN, if
required, and configure the board to use the external
power supply by removing jumpers J1 to J4. See "Power
supply configuration" below.
4.
Connect any external devices that you want to power from
the board to EXT OUT.
5.
Restore the control panel power and configure the board,
inputs, and outputs at the control panel. See your control
panel installation manual for further information.
Observe polarity for all connections. The length of the power
cables connected to EXT IN and EXT OUT must not exceed
3 m.
Relay output configuration
Relay outputs can be configured for relay contact ouptut
(normally open) operation or for 3.3 kΩ / 680 Ω switched
operation using jumpers J15 to J18.
The default setting for relay outputs is 3.3 kΩ / 680 Ω switched
operation.
See Figure 3 for jumper locations and Figure 4 for
configuration settings.
Power supply configuration
By default 24 VDC is supplied by the control panel.
If system power requirements exceed the maximum current
that the control panel can provide, connect an external 24 VDC
power supply to EXT IN and remove jumpers J1 to J4. See
Figure 3 for jumper locations.
System power requirements
Caution:
Risk of equipment damage. To avoid damage to the
power supply, make sure that the maximum system power
requirements do not exceed the available power supply
(internal or external). Do this before connecting outputs.
