5.4 Fitting the crimping / pressing jaws
WARNING
Risk of injury! Unintentional starting.
▶ Remove the battery before fitting, changing or removing the crimping / pressing jaws.
1. Remove the battery and select the most suitable crimping / pressing jaws.
Note
Never operate the crimping tool without crimping / pressing jaws in place.
In order to ensure correct crimping / pressing and to ensure that the tool functions reliably and
safely, only the crimping / pressing jaws approved by the system manufacturer / tool manufacturer
for use with the tool may be used.
2. Press the locking pins.
3. Rotate the locking pins counterclockwise as far as they will go.
4. Pull out the locking pins.
5. Fit the crimping / pressing jaws.
6. Push the locking pins in until they engage.
7. Rotate the crimping / pressing head to the desired working position.
Note
The crimping / pressing head can be rotated much more easily when not under pressure.
5.5 Removing the crimping / pressing jaws
WARNING
Risk of injury! Unintentional starting.
▶ Remove the battery before fitting, changing or removing the crimping / pressing jaws.
1. Remove the battery and rotate the crimping / pressing head into the outset position.
2. Press the locking pins.
3. Rotate the locking pins counterclockwise as far as they will go.
4. Pull out the locking pins.
5. Remove the crimping / pressing jaws from the tool by pulling them forward away from the tool.
5.6 Fitting / removing the Hilti retaining strap (not supplied with the tool)
CAUTION
Damage to the tool and/or the retaining leash. Incorrect handling may lead to damage to the tool
and/or retaining leash.
▶ Do not use a metal chain as a retaining leash. Do not use a retaining leash with a length of more
than 6 ft (2 m). Failure to observe this point may lead to damage to the tool and/or the retaining
leash in the event of the tool falling.
Note
To help avoid the risk of injury due to a tool falling when working at a height, we recommend use of
the Hilti retaining strap. The retaining strap allows a securing cord or leash to be attached. National
regulations applicable to working in high positions must be observed when working with the tool.
1. Fitting the strap => Remove the battery. Insert the two tabs on the retaining strap into the slots on each
side of the base of the tool. Secure the retaining strap with the screws supplied. Refit the battery.
2. Removing the strap => Remove the battery. Remove the two retaining strap securing screws. Pull the
two retaining strap tabs out of the slots in the base of the tool and remove the retaining strap. Refit the
battery.
