2 Safety Notes
This insertion corresponds to the directive for electro-
magnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
The insertion must be installed by skilled personnel
only.
The insertion is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
it against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not operate the unit and the installed insertion
and immediately disconnect the plug from the mains
socket
1. if there is visible damage to the insertion, the unit,
or the mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the insertion or the entire unit must be
repaired by skilled personnel.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
No guarantee claims for the insertion and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material dam-
age will be accepted if the unit is used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if it is not correctly
mounted, operated, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the insertion is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.
3 Applications
The insertion is suitable for installation in the following
MONACOR units and must be installed in these units
by skilled personnel only.

The CD player allows replay of audio CDs and CDs
which you have burnt yourself (CD-R). It is not possi-
ble to replay rewriteable CDs (CD-RW).
4 Installation of the Insertion
WARNING Prior to the installation of the insertion
disconnect the mains plug of the am-
plifier or basic unit of the insertion from
the mains. Otherwise there will be an
electric shock hazard.
1) Remove the housing cover from the amplifier or the
basic unit.
2) Unscrew the cover plate for the insertion compart-
ment on the front panel of the amplifier or of the basic
unit. Install the insertion and fasten it with screws.
3) Connect the bare three-pole wire of the amplifier or
basic unit to the pin socket of position c (see fig. 3).
4) Two further audio outputs are available, if required
– also see block diagram on page 24:
the pin socket in position d with balanced mono
output (0 dB) and
the pin socket in position e with unbalanced stereo
output (0 dB)
5) Some insertions are equipped with a 13-pole line f.
This is not required, but it should be fixed with a
cable tie at a suitable place.
For insertion PA-1120CD, the installation is completed.
Close the amplifier or the basic unit with the housing
cover.
