Grinding
• Only use discs specifically manufactured for grinding operations. Stone and metal grinding discs
are not interchangeable. Use the correct disc for the application
• When grinding, keep the tool at approximately 15 to 30° to the workpiece surface (Fig. VI)
Note: Do not apply too much pressure to the tool whilst grinding. Excessive pressure does not result
in more effective removal of material, but will in fact cause premature wear of the grinding disc and
will increase wear and tear on the tool.
Cutting
WARNING: Always ensure the correct guard (optional accessory) for use with cutting discs or
superabrasive wheels is installed.
Note: This machine is not designed for wet cutting.
• Only use discs specifically manufactured for cutting operations. Stone and metal cutting discs are
not interchangeable. Use the correct disc for the application
• Never use cutting discs for grinding operations. The disc might shatter and produce projectiles
that could injure the operator and/or bystanders
• When cutting, always keep the angle of the disc constant. Do not apply any sideways force to
cutting discs, as this might lead to the disc becoming jammed in the cut and shattering
WARNING: Do not apply too much pressure to the tool whilst cutting. Excessive pressure does not
result in more effective or faster cutting, but will in fact cause premature wear of the cutting disc and
increase wear and tear on the tool.
Note: The cutting disc will wear during use, and the disc diameter will gradually reduce in size. The
smaller the disc becomes, the more strain will be placed on the motor. Avoid damage to the tool by
only using cutting discs that fall within approximately 25% of the original size.
Using a cup brush or wire wheel
• Always check the no-load speed of the grinder does not exceed the maximum speed of the cup
brush or wire wheel
• Ensure no part of the cup brush or wire wheel can come into contact with the tool housing
• Run the grinder, with cup brush or wire wheel attached, for at least 30 seconds before use to
check that the cup brush or wire wheel is secure and properly balanced
• When using a wire cup brush or wire wheel, avoid applying excess pressure. Using greater force
will not make the cup brush or wire wheel more effective, but will bend the wires out of shape
and damage the brush
Accessories
• A full range of accessories including cutting guard and abrasive discs is available from your

to extension cords used with this tool

Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the machine's service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth.
If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol, petrol or
strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Replacing the brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
To replace the brushes:
1. Unscrew the motor cover screw (Fig. VII)
2. Slide the cover off the tool
3. Disconnect the wire terminal from the brush (Fig. VIII)
4. Unscrew and remove the brush housing with the brush (Fig. IX)
5. Using a screwdriver (not supplied) remove the brush from the housing (Fig. X)
6. Replace the worn brush
7. Repeat process for second brush
8. Reassemble the tool in reverse order to disassembling
Note: One set of Spare Carbon Brushes (11) is supplied with this tool. Always replace both brushes
as a pair.
