Inserting a Drill Bit or Other Accessory
(Fig. A, D)

WARNING: Do not attempt to tighten drill bits (or
any other accessory) by gripping the front part
of the chuck and turning the tool on. Damage
to the chuck and personal injury may occur when
changing accessories.

WARNING: Always ensure the bit is secure before
starting the tool. A loose bit may eject from tool
causing possible personal injury.
1. Open the chuck

by turning the collar
counterclockwise (when viewed from the chuck end).
2. Insert the accessory shaft into the chuck to about 3/4"
(19 mm) depth, centered in the jaws.
3. Tighten chuck collar by hand by turning the collar
clockwise. Place chuck key
holes and securely tighten in a clockwise direction.
nOTE: Tighten chuck with all three holes to
prevent slippage.

OPERATION

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and disconnect it from
power source before making any adjustments or
removing/installing attachments or accessories.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.

properly and to hold the drill firmly with both
hands to prevent loss of control which could
cause personal injury.

Proper Hand Position (Fig. E)

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury,
ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of a
sudden reaction.

WARNING: Drill may stall (if overloaded or improperly
used) causing a twist. Always expect the stall. Grip
the drill firmly with both hands to control the twisting
action and prevent loss of control which could cause
personal injury. If a stall does occur, release the trigger
immediately and determine the reason for the stall
before re-starting.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main handle
 and one hand on the side handle
