5. Commissioning, operation
Electrical protection class
Depending on the electrical connection, the instruments are designed in
protection class I or II. The appropriate protection class of the electrical
EN
connection is given in the respective data sheet.
Protection class I
■
Include the instrument into the grounding concept of the installation.
Ensure that the electrical connection is made via a protective
conductor connection.
Depending on the instrument variant:
- Directly via the PE stranded wire for instruments with cable outlet
- Via the grounding pin (pin 4) for instruments with electrical
connection per DIN 175301-803-A
- Via screw (6-32 UNC x 1/4") near the connection terminals
Note: Use a conductor with a sufficient cross-section and a ring
lug matching the cross-section. The connection shall be corrosion-
resistant and locked against rotation.
Protection class II
■
Protective insulation, no protective conductor connection
Specifications of connection terminals:
Connection capacity (single-wire): 0.34 ... 2.5 mm² (28 ...12 AWG)
Connection capacity (multi-wire): 0.34 ... 2.5 mm² (28 ...12 AWG)
