WARNING!

a ) Read all the instructions before using the task light.
b ) Avoid contact with hot parts.
c ) To reduce the risk of injury, do not stare at
operating lamp. Serious eye injury could occur.
d ) To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is
necessary when an task light is used near children.
e ) To disconnect, turn all controls to the OFF position,
then remove plug from outlet.
f ) Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp
the plug, not the cord.
g ) Unplug from outlet when not in use and before
servicing or cleaning.
h ) Do not operate any task light with a damaged
cord or plug, or after the task light has received
a sharp blow, malfunctions or is dropped or
damaged in any manner. Return task light to the
nearest authorized service facility for examination,
repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
i ) To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not put
task light in water or other liquid. Do not place
or store task light where it can fall or be pulled into a
tub or sink.
j ) Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. Refer
to grounding instructions.
k ) Only use attachments recommended or sold by
the manufacturer.
l ) Risk of electric shock. Do not expose to rain.
Store indoors.

Specific Safety Rules for Task Lights
WARNING: Fire hazard. Do not operate task light
near flammable liquids or in gaseous or explosive
atmospheres. Internal sparks may ignite fumes
causing personal injury.
•
Do not submerge task light in any liquid.
•
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance buy a person responsible
for their safety.
•
The task light is intended for commercial and
household use.
•
Before using battery and task light, read all instructions
and cautionary markings on task light, charger and
battery pack.

When using the task
•
Store the task light indoors when not in use. Keep out of
reach of children.
•
DO NOT attempt to charge the battery pack with any
chargers other than the ones in this manual. The task
light, charger and battery pack are specifically designed to
work together.
•
Make sure extension cord is located so that it will not
be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to
damage or stress.
•
Use only a proper extension cord that is necessary to
operate the PCCL500 task light on AC power (refer to
Use of Extension Cords with Task light). Use of an
improper extension cord could result in risk of fire, electric
shock, or electrocution.
•
A proper extension cord will be marked with the
suffix letter "W" and with a tag stating "Suitable for
Use with Outdoor Appliances."
•
Place the task light away from any heat source.
•
Do not disassemble task light. Take it to an authorized
service center when service or repair is required. Incorrect
reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock,
electrocution or fire.
•
Disconnect the task light from the outlet before
attempting any cleaning. This will reduce the risk of
electric shock. Removing the battery pack will not reduce
this risk.
•
The PCCL500 task light is designed to operate on 120 Volts,
60 Hz AC or on direct current (DC) through fully charged
PORTER-CABLE 20V Max* lithium-ion battery packs. Do
not use any other voltage.
•
Use type SJW, SJOW, SJTW, SJTOW, SW, SOW, STW and
STOW cord when operating the task light on AC power.
•
Secure the task light in upright position while transporting.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, do not place
anything on top of the lens during or after operation
of the light.
WARNING: Do not place the task light in a position
which may cause anyone to intentionally or
unintentionally stare into the task light. Serious eye
injury could result.
CAUTION: Only use task light on stable surface. Do
not raise above work space/personnel via lifting,
hoisting, mounting, or suspension.
Servicing of Double Insulated Appliances
A double-insulated appliance is marked with one or more of
the following: The words "DOUBLE INSULATION" or "DOUBLE
INSULATED" or the double insulation symbol
Your task light is double-insulated to give you added safety.
In a double insulated appliance, two systems of insulation
are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is
provided on a double insulated appliance, nor should a means
for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double
insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge
of the system and should be done only by qualified service
personnel. Replacement parts for a double insulated appliance
must be identical to the parts they replace. A double insulated
appliance is marked with the words double insulated or
"double insulation". The symbol (square within a square) may
also be marked on the appliance.
