NOTE :
Adjusting the height of the stem is separated from the tightening of the headset and fork assembly
with its headset requiring special tools. You are strongly advised to go to an authorized LOOK dealer to
disassemble and refit the fork correctly and completely.
For all maintenance operations we remind you that the fork must be fitted to a wheel and abnormal
wear on the fork ends resulting from scraping on the ground are not covered by the LOOK guarantee.
Warning : The forks are supplied fitted on the frames with a pivot of a specific length for each socket
size. The remaining length of the pivot beyond the headset makes it possible to fit the Aerostem stem
in high position. It is possible to cut the fork
For the Aerostem:
We recommend placing the cutting tool (included with the frame) directly on the compression ring
without removing the headset and cut the height at the end of the template.
SETTINGS OF THE HEAD FIT 3 HEADSET
Attention: The headset is factory mounted and set so as to be functional starting at first use
without prior dismounting.
However LOOK gives each user the possibility of hardening or easing their steering, of very
fine tuning the compression of bearings by tightening or loosening the spacer as shown in
the figures below:
Start by manually engaging the spacer on
the thread insert till it comes in contact with
the upper bearing's compression cone.
For more important tightening, use the
thread wrench advised by LOOK.
Carefully adjust the headset so that no play
subsists and that the fork can rotate freely
with no hard spot.
Be careful not to tighten the spacer up to
blocking the steering that could prematu-
rely damage the bearing and consequently
the whole steering function.
