allen screw P [III-4] in the hydraulic
accumulator until the indicator of the
pressure gauge moves.
4. The pressure gauge now displays the pre-
charge pressure in the hydraulic accumu-
lator. The gas-tight connection between FPU
and the pressure boost system prevents
nitrogen from escaping.
7.3 Pressure increase (charging/
recharging)
522820747-4
If you have not yet done so, prepare the
hydraulic accumulator and check pre-charge
pressure – see Preparation [Sec. 7.1] and
Testing [Sec. 7.2].
Charging, and in particular recharging,
hydraulic accumulators must be done incre-
mentally – see Incremental recharging
[Sec. 5.1].
1. CAREFULLY OPEN shut-off valve at the
pressure boost system.
The outlet pressure at the pressure boost
system is displayed. This corresponds to
the display of the pressure gauge at the
FPU (outlet pressure = current pressure in
the hydraulic accumulator). We
recommend selecting a 10% higher accu-
mulator pre-charge pressure in order to
compensate for the influence in temper-
ature. This does not apply to SM.
2. Interrupt the charging process from time to
time by means of the pressure boost
system in order to read the achieved pre-
charge pressure.
3. Repeat the process until the required gas
pre-charge pressure is achieved.
4. After temperature compensation has taken
place, re-check the pre-charge pressure
and adjust if necessary.
7.4 Pressure reduction
(discharge)
522822667-4
1. Release valve B [II-2] has no end stop in
the opening direction. It must be opened
SLOWLY, by MAX. 1 TURN. The nitrogen is
released into the atmosphere.
7.5 To finish
522825355-4
1. SB: Rotate the spindle A [II-2] counter-
clockwise to close the gas valve insert E
[III-3] in the hydraulic accumulator.
SK, SBO, SM: Rotate the spindle A
INT 3.501.BA14/03.23
[II-2] clockwise to close the allen screw
P [III-4] in the hydraulic accumulator.
2. Switch off the pressure boost system.
3. Reduce pressure in the charging hose and
FPU via the pressure-relief valve B [II-2]
of the FPU.
4. Remove the charging hose from the FPU.
5. Loosen the cap nut D [II-2] and remove
the FPU from the hydraulic accumulator.
6. SB: Unscrew adapter A3H [III-2] and
insert the O-ring O [III-3] again. Check
the tightness of the gas valve using leak
detection spray. Screw and firmly tighten
the seal cap H [III-3] onto the accumu-
lator gas valve – tightening torque: 30 Nm.
Screw on cap nut S [III-3] by hand.
SK, SBO, SM: Tighten screw plug P
[III-4] with an allen key (AF width 6,
DIN ISO 2936) WZ2 [III-4] – tightening
torque: 20 Nm.
Check screw plug P [III-4] for leak-
tightness using leak detection spray.
Screw and tighten the seal cap S [III-4]
onto the screw plug P [III-4] – tightening
torque: 20 Nm.
8.
Disposal
518188683-4

and dispose of them according to material
type in accordance with national laws and
directives.
