IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed including the
following:
WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, and personal injury or excessive
exposure to microwave energy:
1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
2. Specifically read and follow the "PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXCESSIVE
EXPOSURE TO MICROWAVE ENERGY" on page 3.
3. This appliance must be grounded. Plug only into
plug into an outlet that is properly grounded. Refer to the section
"GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS" on page 4.
4. Install or position the appliance only in accordance with the installation instructions provided.
5. Some products, such as whole eggs and sealed containers (e.g. closed glass jars) may explode
and should not be heated in the oven.
6. Use the appliance only for its intended household use as described in this manual. DO NOT use
corrosive chemicals or cleaners on the appliance. This type of oven is specifically designed for
heating, cooking or dehydrating food. It is NOT designed for industrial or laboratory use.
7. To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:
• Do not overcook food. Watch the appliance when placing paper, plastic or other combustible
materials inside the oven to accelerate cooking.
• Remove wire ties from plastic or paper bags before placing them in the oven.
• If materials inside the oven catch fire, keep the oven door closed, turn the oven off, disconnect the
power cord or turn off the power supply at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
• Do not use the oven cavity for storage. Do not leave paper products, cooking utensils or food in the
oven cavity when not in use.
8. Liquids such as water, tea or coffee may become very hot, above the boiling point, without
appearing to be boiling, due to the surface tension of the liquid.
surface tension of the liquid. Bubbling and boiling may not always be visible when the container is
removed from the microwave oven. THIS CAN CAUSE VERY HOT LIQUIDS TO BOIL SUDDENLY
WHEN A SPOON OR OTHER UTENSIL IS INSERTED INTO THEM. To reduce the risk of personal
injury:
• DO NOT overheat liquids.
• Stir liquids before heating and in the middle of the process.
• Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks.
• After heating, allow the container to remain briefly in the microwave oven before removing it.
• Use extreme caution when inserting a spoon or any other utensil into the container.
9. DO NOT heat oil or fat for frying. It is difficult to control the temperature of oil in a microwave oven.
10. Pierce holes in foods that have thick skins, such as potatoes, whole pumpkins, apples and
chestnuts, before cooking.
11. In order to avoid burns, stir or shake the contents of baby bottles and baby food jars and check
their temperature before serving.
12. Cooking utensils may become hot due to heat transfer from heated food. Pot holders may be
needed to handle utensils.
