CABLE TypE:
The drop cable used between the submersible motor and control box should be an approved
one for submersible applications. The conductor may be solid or stranded. The cable may
consist of indiciadually insulated conductors twisted together, insulated conductors molded
side by sude with a round or flat overall jacket.
Make sure the main power supply is switched off before working on or around the water
systems and that cannot accidently switched on to prevent fatal or serious electrical shock.
ELECTRiCAL inSTRuCTiOnS:
The pumping system must be earthed using an appropriate size of copper conductor. Ear-
thing must be made in accordance with the local electrical codes and regulations. A bare
copper conductor at least to the equivalent size of the power supply conductor to the pump
set must be used for earthing. When fixing earth conductor, first connect it to the earth point
and then to the motor earth lead and to the earthing screws in the control box / starter.
Provide proper earthing to reduce risk of tested electrical shock or injuries.
Reduce the length of the earth wire as much as possible and connect to the good earthing
points such as earth rod driven deeply into the water. Alternatively a good earth point can be
the steel casing pipes, when used in the borewell, which is submerged in water and driven
into the ground lower than the pump setting depth. Do not use gas supply pipes as earthing
points.
Check the power source for voltage, frequency and phase with the name plates of the motor
and capacitor box or starter, if voltage variations are more than + 6% & -10% do not operate
the motor.
ELECTRiCAL COnnECTiOnS:
Electrical conections should be done as per connection diagram or connection instruction
available in panel board.

Submersible pump set are supplied for direct online starters of up to 7,5 HP and star delta
starters of 7,5 HP and above.
2.
Attach the cable to the pipe just above borewell cover.
3.
bring the cable up to the control panel.
4.
Do a final megger test before connecting the cable leads to the control panel. Connect
only if the megger test gives an okay verdict (value should be more than 20MΩ)
5.
Clean dust, rust from earthing point on motor body properly before doing earthing.
6.
Connect the earthing wire to the delivery pipe and ensure that it is optimally earthened.
7.
Put the main switch on position and check the voltage. The pump should not be started
till the rated voltage is achieved.
8.
Before making the connections, remove excess cable length, if any.
9.
Start the pump and let the motor pick up full speed. Also, open the delivery valve fully.
10. Switch ON the pump set and check the flow of water. If adeqaute quantity of water is
no discharged by the pump, interchange the wire connection in any two phases, and
change the direction of rotation of the pump. Higher dischrge indicates the correct
direction of rotation.
11. Emply a licensed electrician for electrical connection.
12. 12. All erection works must be donde only by an experienced technician, stictly as per
the guidelines mentioned here.
