Then, join all the three leads together with tape. Apply two more layers. Slip back the
PVC pipe and the cap over the joint in such a way that it covers the joints equally. Re-
tain it in the same position using PVC tape and put the rubber compound over the cap.
Keep the PVC pipe vertically for pouring the hot compound. Melt the hot film com-
pound and pour in to the PVC pipe till it is filled. keep the cable at teh centre while pou-
ring the hot compound. Place the other rubber cap and apply the rubber compound.

NEMA standard splined shaft extension is
provided for easy coupling. This will ensu-
re prolonged spline life of the coupling and
motor. It also prevents abrasives entering
from the well into the spline area. Before
coupling, check that the mounting faces of
pump and motor are free from dirt and dust.
WARNING !
Before coupling, ensure the mounting
areas of pump and motor are free from dirt
and dust. Align the pump coupling with
motor shaft and slide on it. Then tighten
the assembly nuts / studs equally and fir-
mly complying with tightening torques
specified by the manufacturer.
WARNING !
An adequate flow of cooling water is man-
datory to avoid overheating.
Motor should be lifted from stud portion of upper housing through chain pulley block
/ other lifting equipment during erection. Erect the tripod and fix the chain block in
such a way that the hook of the chain is positioned exactly above the centre of the
bore well. Unscrew the strainer and cable guard. Using the megger, check the insula-
tion resistance of the motor. Place the motor vertically near the bore well.
Take out the pump the package and check the rotation of the pump shaft. Apply the
threading compound to the threaded portion of the pump and the short length pipe.
Screw up the short lenght pipe in to the pump (ensure taht the threaded length of
the short length pipe and delivery pipe and suspend the pump using the chain block.
Clean the motor seating surface and the pump seating surface before the motor and
the pump lift and lower the pump carefully on the motor while doing so ensure three
things
1.
The pump shaft must be inserted in to coupling.
2.
The studs on the motor must be passing through the suction housing holes.
3.
The cable coming out of the motor should passing through the slots provided in
the suction housing.
After coupling the pump set on the motor, tighten all the nuts uniformly and frimly.
Check the axial movement and free rotation of the motor and the pump shaft assem-
bly with the help of screw driver placing it in the groove provided in the coupling. Fit
the cable guard and strainer properly.
