Plate Maintenance:
•
Preserve the plate with unsalted cooking oil by applying it with a kitchen
towel or cloth. Let the plate stand for one hour and then wipe it dry of oil
residue with a cloth. A grill plate prepared this way can be used again for
grilling.
Cleaning:
The grill should be thoroughly cleaned after each use:
For one-time and short-term use, simply wipe the grill with a paper towel.
•
If the surface is very dirty, wash the surface with water and dishwashing
•
liquid.
•
NOTE: note that soap scum removes the natural grease coating and the grill
surface should be coated with oil after such washing.
After each use of the grill, pull out the collection drawer and clean it. The
•
container should be washed in soap suds.
NOTE: if the drawer is not cleaned, the remaining food residue and grease will collect
and may ignite when the grill is reheated.
CAUTION! Do not pour water over the hot grill plate. Doing so can warp the hotplate
and cause cracks to form on the surface,
which is permanent damage.
