5.2
Effect on Tissue
The penetration depth of the laser light depends on the wavelength and absorption, diffusion
and reflection of this wavelength in the tissue. The power density also determines the effects
on the tissue. The effects created change the tissue parameters. In case of a high intensity a
change of the absorption of the tissue can be observed depending on the irradiation dose,
which can easily lead to a carbonization of the tissue. The carbonized tissue on the other hand
absorbs the laser light a lot more, which leads to an increase of the effect and the desired
vaporization to allow exact cutting with the laser beam.
5.3
Fumes
WARNING
Risk of infection due to viable tissue particles in laser fumes!
The fumes that are created in particular by vaporization during the laser treatment can be
harmful to health.
You can use the fume suction system marVAC
generate fumes.
